Define Phase
(1.11) Introduction:
· Write
a statement describing the overall purpose of the project.
·
What is the key challenge or problem the
project is aiming to address?
· What
are students intended to learn from the project?
The
purpose of the project is
-
To
understand the basic concepts of both plane and three dimensional shapes .
-
To learn the
formula of perimeter and area of rectangles and square, lateral surface area,
total surface area of cuboid, cube, cylinder.
-
To apply the
knowledge in practical situations.
|
(1.12) Project
Scope:
Describe the scope of your
project. This may include class and section, subjects it covers, self shills to
be used etc. as well as other factors affecting scope.
The project is planned for class VIII under the
topic ‘Mensuration’. It helps the students to understand the need of studying
this topic , how to apply the concept in our life situations, to learn the
formula of area and volume .
|
(1.13) Curriculum
and Standards:
List the curriculum and
standards this project with cover.
1)
Area and
perimeter of a rectangle.
2)
Surface
area and volume of cuboid.

Lesson 2
2.1 Essential
Question:
Put in writing the
question that will engage the students
1) Find
total expenditure for painting the walls of class room, cost of tiling the
floor of the class room. Find the area and perimeter of assembly ground. Find
the total number of rectangular sheets required to paste on the display
board.
2) Find
the total surface area and volume of given solid shapes.
|
2.2 Grouping
Strategy:
Describe the criteria that
will be used to form students team and how this maps to the goals of the
project.
The entire class is divided into 6 groups.
